The machine has a double clamping device with quick clamping on the fixed and on the movable side guided by 2 hydraulic cylinders. There are 2 flexible hoses with quick-action couplings for connection to the hydraulic control unit. The double clamping devices are screwed to the steel pipe frame. The outer fixed clamping tool can be easily dismounted by removing 3 screws in order to be able to weld at badly accessible places, e.g. in trenches or at branches of T-pieces. The remaining unit of three rings can be removed from the frame for use of repair work.
The electric hydraulic unit - for moving the right-hand clamping device and for the exact control of the welding forces - has a pressure backup for supporting the welding force during the cooling down, 2 quick-action couplings as well as a digital pressure gauge for the exact indication of the pressure.
The planer is suspended in the guide shafts, has a chain drive in a closed aluminium housing, a security micro switch with lock and an automatic external chip removal.
The heating element is suspended in the guide shafts and anti-stick coated, has an electronical temperature control with digital display, control lamps, an on/off switch and a connection cable with shock-proof plug. The separating device prevents the heating element from sticking to the pipe after the heating process. For the heat-protected storage of planer and heating element, a reception box is available.
Smaller pipe dimensions can be clamped by means of reducer inserts depending on the pipe diameter. In addition, large and extra large reducer inserts or a combination of small, large and extra large inserts can be delivered.

WIDOS extension kit for automatic heating element
In order to fullfill the demands for a fully automatic heating element butt welding process on site, heating elements for the models WIDOS 4400, WIDOS 4600, WIDOS 4800, WIDOS 4900, WIDOS 5100, WIDOS 5500 manual types, as well as in combination with SPA 600 and CNC 3.0 control, are available which are automatically moving in and out thus enabling an automatic welding process.
The automatic heating element is detached on the basic machine after mismatch compensation. It can be removed anytime between the start of the joining time and the end of the cooling time, and is stored in a reception box together with the planer. The small construction which makes it possible to work in narrow ditches, and the simple locking in the basic machine by means of the one-handed clamping, offer further advantages. It is available as additional equipment, as an alternative to our wellknown hand-held heating elements.
Automatic heating element, anti-stick coated, with connection cable and plug, control lamps for system and interval checking, on/off-switch, electronical adjustment and controlling of the temperature in accordance with DVS 2208.

WIDOS Heat Ring Welding Devices
Light and solid heat ring welding device for the welding of PE and PP pipes and fittings on building sites. Due to the modular and compact version especially appropriate for the welding in cramped problematic places. The machine can be dismantled into light pieces in no time and thus considerably minimizes the efforts for transport and handling.
Reducer inserts are mounted into the basic clamping tools in order to apply different pipe dimensions. The optional basic frame is equipped with precise linear guidings for an exact and easy movement of the basic clamping tools. For an easy on site fabrication of segmented bends it is possible to swivel the basic clamping tools from 7,5° up to 15° on each side. The solid high performance hydraulic system is suspended in fast changeable devices and can be used with all sizes.
Optional supplementary hydraulic systems increase a comfortable application and can also be universally used with all models. The electronically adjusted heating elements are anti-stick coated and monitored in accordance with the directive DVS 2208. They are fixed to the machine in a self-bearing manner and are optimized for maintenance. The planer and its solid and light monodisc version enables a precise weld preparation and is fixed to the machine with an automatic lock system.
The following dimensions are available: HRG 3 (OD 200 - 315 mm), HRG 4 (OD 315 - 450 mm), HRG 6 (OD 315 - 630 mm), HRG 8 (OD 500 - 800 mm), HRG 10 (OD 630 - 1000 mm), HRG 12 (OD 1000 - 1200 mm), HRG 14 (OD 1200 - 1400 mm), HRG 16 (OD 1400 - 1600 mm) and HRG 18 (OD 1600 - 1800 mm).
